Did you know its easy to make BEEF and BROCCOLI at home? Beef stir fry with broccoli in a savory sauce. It’s better than takeout, I promise. ☺️

Marinade
Sauce
Instructions
Combine beef (1 lb) and all the ingredients for the marinade (light soy sauce (1 Tbsp), sesame oil (1 tsp), cornstarch (1 tsp), and baking soda (1 tsp)) in a bowl. Mix and let the beef marinate for 1 hour.
While waiting for the beef to marinate, steam broccoli florets (¾ lb) to desired doneness and set aside.
Make the sauce. Combine oyster sauce (4 Tbsp), water (⅓ cup), chicken powder (1 tsp), sugar (1 tsp), and Chinese rice wine (1 tsp) and stir. You could add 1 tsp of cornstarch as a thickener but I didn’t.
Heat a wok or a large sauté pan to high heat. Pan needs to be hot before adding vegetable oil (2 Tbsp).
One you see a little smoke coming out, add the beef pieces and let them sear for 1 minute without touching it.
Stir until both sides are brown for about 2-3 minutes and set aside.
Turn heat down to medium and add garlic (3 cloves) and sauté for 30 seconds. Add the sauce, stir and scrape the bottom of the pan to get the flavors off.
Add the beef back in the work and broccoli (¾ lb) and stir until its coated in the sauce.
Serve immediately with steamed white rice and enjoy.
Notes
Notes
- Use a wok that can handle high heat for better cooking results. LINK IN MY BIO TO PURCHASE THE SAME WOK. 🍳
- The baking soda helps tenderize the meat.
- Making sure the wok or pan is hot before adding the cooking oil to prevent the beef from sticking. It will also give the meat a nice sear on the outside.
