I love Filipino-style sweet spaghetti, but Pancake House style SPAGHETTI and MEAT SAUCE hits differently. Pancake House is a popular chain restaurant in the Philippines. They are known for their crispy tacos and spaghetti. Not your typical Filipino spaghetti with red hot dogs and banana ketchup. Their version has a rich and savory beefy taste and a little sweet. So good! I haven’t had it in decades so I tried to recreate it at home.

Instructions
Preheat a wok.
Add cooking oil (2 Tbsp) and ground beef (1 ½ lb).
Break up the ground beef with a wooden spatula let the water from the meat evaporate and brown the meat over medium-high heat.
Add garlic (4 cloves) and onions (½ small) and saute until onions are translucent. Season with salt ( to taste) and pepper ( to taste)
Add tomato sauce (30 oz), water (½ cup), tomato paste (2 Tbsp), and stir.
Add canned mushrooms ( to taste) and liver spread (4 oz) and stir until the liver spread dissolves in the sauce.
Add sugar (⅓ cup), beef bouillon (1 cube), and fish sauce ( to taste). Stir. Cover. Turn the heat down to low.
Let it simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the bottom from burning.
Taste if it needs more salt ( to taste) or fish sauce ( to taste).
Serve over cooked spaghetti noodles and top with shredded mozzarella cheese ( to taste). Enjoy!
