It’s a Filipino thing to pair fried chicken with gravy so here’s my easy and quick recipe on how to make chicken gravy.
Melt butter (2 Tbsp) in a saucepan over low heat.
Add a bit of the oil you used to fry the chicken (1 Tbsp).
Add flour (2 Tbsp) and stir. Let it cook or simmer on low heat for 5 minutes to get rid of the raw flour taste.
Add chicken powder (1 tsp) and hot water (1 cup). Stir or whisk.
Add black pepper (⅛ tsp) and stir and let it simmer for 1 minute.
Add soy sauce (1 tsp) and stir.
When the gravy coats the spoon, that means it's ready.
Transfer to a bowl and serve with fried chicken and rice.
