It’s the cheapest source of protein, filling and honestly quite comforting, especially when mixed with veggies and served over steamed white rice!

This is my mom’s recipe for Sautéed Sardines with Bok Choy or GINISANG SARDINAS. 🇵🇭 She also puts misua or Chinese Vermicelli noodles, but I ran out.

Instructions

  1. Sauté onions (½ small) and garlic (3 cloves) lover medium-high heat until fragrant about 2 minutes.

  2. Add canned sardines in tomato sauce (2 cans). Season with fish sauce ( to taste) and black pepper ( to taste).

  3. Add water (1 can) and bring it to a boil uncovered.

  4. Add bok choy. Cover, turn heat down to low, and let the bok choy cook for 3 minutes.

  5. Serve with steamed white rice and enjoy!

Notes

  • Sometimes, I like to squeeze like juice on top.
